What is taro cake?

Tarocake (traditional Chinese: 芋頭糕; simplified Chinese: 芋头糕; pinyin: yùtóu gāo; Cantonese Yale: wuhtáu gōu) is a Cantonese dim sum dish made from the vegetable taro.
The consistency of taro cake is denser than turnip cake. The main ingredient in both cases is rice flour.
Usually, it is cut into rectangular slices and pan-fried before serving. Often, the cooking process involves adding ingredients such as ground pork, Chinese sausage, dried shrimp, or shiitake mushrooms. It is usually served with chopped scallions.
